Yep, here it is... at last I managed to find a good steelcutting bandsaw I could (sort of) afford. It's a Mössner Rekord made in 1971 and weighs in at about 1150 pounds. It took 5 guys to get it upright in the shop. The machine has an oil filled transmission to change between the 8 speeds. I've orderd bi-metal band to make up a new set of bands, but even the band I have for cutting regular steel cuts like a dream. I was so tired of not being able to profile blades with anything like speed. Now it's goodbye to water jet cutting and hello to being able to fit the grip of every knife to hand of whomever orders it. Plus I like to leave the spine flat until I've done most of the grinding and then cut the profile. These machines cost over $10.000 new, so I was glad to find this good old one, which should continue to give me good service for the next 30 or 40 years, and after that it'll still be a good buy for somebody and my estate auction!
One cool thing is the saw blade welding attachment with grinder built right onto the machine. That way you can buy bandsaw blade by the roll and make em up as you wear em out.
