I just wrote a similar message to the company Spyderco forum, please forgive the duplication.

Well, it finally arrived and I picked it up today. My long awaited stainless steel, serrated Police model. What a thing of beauty this knife is. It just gleams and it feels like a really strong tool as it slips into the waistband. By virtue of it's slim profile; it virtually disappears there. This knife was extremely sharp right to the tip, and even opens fairly easily for a new one.
I've been having fun "drop opening" it all evening long. Just had to spread the joy by telling you all!

Cheers, Jeff/1911.

Congratulations, Jeff! Yeah, there is nothing better than the day/evening a new knife arrives. Glad you got a smooth opening one.

Gonna work it into your carry rotation? Or, is it planned to be your EDC? Too big to be legal in my state.

Have fun with it!

Congratulations, Jeff!
The SS-handled Police model remains among my favorites. I have both a plain one and the all-serrated one. You'll find this knife to be an awesome cutting machine, and despite its size, is extremely comfortable to carry and doesn't really eat up pants material when it's clipped.

Fellows,

Thanks for the reply. I do intend to make this my EDC, at least for awhile. I will likely also carry a smaller plain edge at the same time for general utility and to minimize the "freak effect" from general public when needed amongst them. Perhaps my Spyderco Calypso Jr. Micarta would be a good match.

I really like this knife. It has smoothened out so that it is almost like glass when opening/closing. This is thanks to about a thousand cycles a day since I got it.

i have an SS police (toothy) i bought in ~90, it was my EDC for some years. it is a nice knife. actually now that i think about it, it was my first spydie!

I'm really enjoying this knife. I have probably dropped it open about 2000 times now... it's getting pretty smooth and effortless.

For the next while at least, I intend to carry this serrated model while alternating a smaller plain edge each day to go with it. Today it's my Micarta Calypso Jr. What a nice combo this is.

Jeff/1911.
