Can anyone tell me why there are more serrations on the Zytel Native, than there are on the Stainless Native II? (I am speaking about the "part-serrated" models.).

It looks like the serrations on the Stainless Native II are about 40% of the blade, while on the Zytel Native, the serrations cover about 70% of the blade.

OK Dann, I'll give it a shot if nobody else will

. My guess would be that there was originally only one model of the stainless Native so it was made partially serrated. Of course now there is also a plain edge version. OTOH there have always been plain edge and fully serrated versions of the Zytel Native, with the serrated version having a larger than normal plain tip for utility.

Take care,

I think it would have something to do with the SS Native's being manufactured in Japan and the Zytel ones in Golden,CO.

Sal,

Two different makers? But doesn't Spyderco send those two different makers the specs for the knives? If so, WHAT was Spydercos' reason for the two different serrated blades on the two Natives?
