My son had the Daisy 1938B out back today, putting holes in a cardboard box. After a little bit, he complained to me that "it won't fire..."

We emptied it and reloaded it and shook it and (gently) banged it on the back steps, but no luck. Anyone have any tips?

have you looked into the barrel to see if theres an obstruction? When you shake it do you hear a rattle besides for the lever action? It's a smooth bore i believe so if you unbend a wire hanger, and if youre worried about scratching the inside of the barrel just put electrical tape around the hanger, gently slide it down and if you feel an obstruction ur home free! if not, put it in all the way and aim it up with the hanger sticking out and cock it and fire. if it jumps it should fire, if not i'd take it apart. theres not much to a BB gun so don't worry. i've had them apart plenty of times to "tune" them up a bit and make them shoot better.
