Hi, all. I'm looking for a fixed blade that I can use for utility purposes and diving(very very rarely). I've narrowed it down to three knives. The Spyderco Temperance, SWKW Rat Tail and SOG SEAL Pup. Here are the pros and cons I have found with each:

Spyderco Temperance
pros: Fully flat ground blade, VG-10 steel, optional black blade for extra corrosion resistance(which is the one I plan to get), Spyderco:D
cons: Partial tang( I think, someone correct me if I'm wrong), not sure if the tip is thin or not

SWKW Rat Tail
pros: Tough steel, good warranty, good corrosion resistance(?)
cons: Doesn't come with a sheath, getting a kydex sheath will add to the cost

SOG SEAL Pup
pros: Coated for corrosion resistance, dive knife, self-draining sheath
cons: Not really sheeple friendly, steel is soft when compared to the above knives

Since I plan to use this more as a utility knife than a diver, I'd rather go with the Spyderco and the SWKW. These are already too expensive for me and will be the only knife I will get so it will have to last me 'til I'm able to afford another. Thanks for all your time!:)

SRKW, although I don't know if the Rat Tail would be the best blade shape for you. That could just be me, I'm not real big on tantos. The Camp Tramp sounds ideal for your stated uses, it's a good sized husky blade and would serve you well for as long as you need. Has the lifetime warranty and comes with a sheath.

I have a spydie temp and lumto... temp I got a custom sheath on it(didn't like factory knife retention), as with the lum...

the temp is a 1/3rd tang, with the handle injected around and through it(holes in tang). Perrin has put out a bet that you can't break a handle under "normal use". same handle thing as the temp.

Sal has posted that if I break the handle on my temp, he'd come up to see it. I was asking about getting a spare to cover heavy bush work and chances of it breaking at the handle.

Thanks for the recommendations, guys! I should've been more clear on the blade length. I'd like to keep it under 4.5" . Thanks again. Any more?

For that blade length you may also want to check out the Swamp Rat Bandicoot or the Howling Rat. The Howling Rat is by far my favorite, but is more of a skinner/hunter with it's deep belly profile. SR101 along with their heat treat is an awesome combo and you really can't go wrong with any of SRKW's products.
