I have a Kershaw Speed Bump and a ZT350. I need to know what my edge is on both blades. I dont know exactly what its called, but when you sharpen a knife and the profile is a 40 or 35 or 30 ect. Im trying to decide which sharpener to order either a Sharpmaker or a Lansky Kit and I know the Lansky is only for 30-18 or 17.. and if you have any advice on those two sharpening systems let me know, Ive never used either of them so Id love some feedback. Thanks guys!!

I love the lansky. It has done anything I have ever needed and I can make my knifes scary sharp on it.

Thank you for your advice. Have you ever done a recurve blade on it? How hard do you think it would be to sharpen a recurve properly on the Lasky?

Lansky does work good for recurves but sometimes can be difficult to clamp to knives that do not have a flat spine like the ones you mentioned.

I have a 350 and use the Lansky on it. It have no trouble with the recurve...once I figured out where I wanted to place the blade in the jaws. I use the 25 degree setting and it is scary sharp.

You may want to also consider the DMT Aligner. It's like the Lansky but I feel it's better.
