Need Some Leather

I'm working on a miniature and need some oak tanned shoulder in 2 - 4 oz... (Scaled down leather too!) I called Leather Factory locally, they insist I need 10 ft at $6 a foot. I'm hoping someone here can help me better than that. I need less than a square foot.

Thanks for any help or ideas,
Dave

Dave,

I've got a bag of large scraps, I'll look and see what I have--If I find it I'll send it to you for nothin'--Dan

Dan, that rocks, thanks. I couldn't find what I need on eBay, or maybe just can't put the right search together.

Dave

Dave- I don't know about the different tanning processes, but I have some pieces of vegetable-tanned leather that is easy to wet form to shape and takes dyes really well. It is thin stuff, don't know the oz. weight. E-mail me if you want some to try. And don't forget to post a pic of this project!:)

Thanks for all the help and offers. Richard, I'll be happy to post a pic if I don't destroy this thing in the process of trying to make it. You may see it some time too, George ordered it. Check your mail too.

Thanks again for all the help, gents,
Dave

Sandy, if you read this again, please try once more. I hadn't updated my profile here when my ISP went under, but my email is now current. Sorry for all this confusion...

Richard, your veg-tanned would probably work too. I'm open to any and all suggestions!

Dave---No problem, my friend, am glad to repeat! I have some leather you would like and it is looking for a new home! E-mail me your physical address and I will mail you a couple square feet. My pleasure! Sandy

Sandy, helmar4578

please e-mail me if you would.
your e-mail you have posted is no good,
and your web site button just goes
to the eazyboard?

 mail@grayknives.com

...Thanks

Dan---my e-mail address is currently helmar45789@webtv.net and the site is no good but I do not know how to cancel it. I guess I am illiterate when it comes to equipment that you do not have to wind! Regards, Sandy

If you have a local saddle maker, they will have a huge box of all kinds of scraps. They will usually sell them real cheap or give them to you.
