Hi all. I am looking for a new folder with a fully serrated blade of no more than 3 inches. Can anyone make a suggestion. Thanks in advance.

Frank

faiello5,

Welcome to BF.

Check out the Spyderco offerings, they are popular and reasonably priced. I'm sure a forumite with all the model numbers in their head will weight in shortly.

BTW you came to the right place.

cant go wrong with spyderco. you can pick up a lightweight delica for 30-40 bucks off of ebay. awesome knife.

I would get a SE Delica or a Rescue Jr. It would be hard to go wrong with those choices.

I'll second the spyderco suggestion. A delica would be a great choice, right size, very slim and handy. You can get it either in a lightweight zytel handle (still really tough) or a stainless steel handle. The zytel handle uses a slightly better steel for the blade but its hard to go wrong with with either one.
Take a look through their offerings at www.spyderco.com though, and then head over to www.onestopknifeshop.com (supports this forum) to buy it (cheaper than what they list at spyderco's site too. The Pro Grip and Native are also good choices, spyderco has a lot to offer :)

I just bought a Spyderco Merlin. It has an all serrated blade with great blade metal and a 2 7/8" long blade. It will join my weekly rotation between my Native lightweight, Vesuvius, and Salsa. A Cricket sits in my wallet. I think this is a perfect lenght for edc; between 2.75 and 3.5 inches.

Sometimes I throw my Spyderhawk or Meerkat in the mix...then there are others....;) ;)

serrated Delica in VG10 - about $40. nuff said. u won't regret it.

Here's another vote for an FRN/SE Delica. The Deli' is an excellent combination of superior ergonomics, cost to product ratio, fit/finish and great materials.

Delica will do you very well. Easy on the hand, wallet, and eye, yet precision mayhem on what you're cutting.

Edited because someone named Roadrunner was nice enough to point out what I didn't read.

Plain-edged Delica will do you very well.

While I agree that the PE Delica is a good knife, it kind of fails to meet the man's first requirement. BTW, if you want serrated Spyderco is definitely the way to go. The Delica or the small Rescue should do the trick for you.

Thanks to the overwhelming reply, I am the proud new owner of a fully serrated Delica. I even sprung for the carbon handles. What a great knife! Thanks all!

Have you all been leaving out the Navigator because it's smaller than the delica??? I think those are great because they have nice metal handels instead of lame FRN (IMO).

Edit to add see franks with me on the lame FRN thing he got CF i didn't even know they came that way.

Good move Frank!

Don't feel bad thombogoran. Check out this thread. I pulled a similar boneheaded move, and Quiet Storm set me straight.
