Hello,

This is a Nessmuk style knife I just finished for a customer.

Here are the specs:

-3.75” blade according to the blade profile the customer sent me.
- Blued cable damascus, with a not too steep convex grind that can still slice good.
- 4" handle, including bolsters in virgin red deer stag in “S” shape with a method to attach a lanyard, wheter is a ring or some carving on the handle to secure the leather loop. Not the original method.
- Bolsters in polished leather and red enameled copper rings. Buttcap in leather (just one ring) and cable damascus
- One pankake sheath to carry the knife and another one following the lines of the knife "for shows" (although is heavy duty too) Both in handstitched brown cow leather.

I have almost 30 pictures showing the process of knifemaking and sheathmaking, I'll post an update when I get my website updated with that :)

Great looking Nessmuk, I'm a big fan of this style of blade. Thanks for sharing.

I grew up reading Woodcraft and love these knives. This one has a "stumpier" blade than I'd expect but I like it. Now you need to make a Nessmuk hatchet! :D

I really like your enameled copper. How do you do that? Is this something regular folks could do?

Thank you folks :)

I haven't heard about Nessmuk before I got this order, the blade design was provided by the customer.

I might make a hatchet, that's a good point! :D

This is how I made the detail of the sheath, and you can see the enamel process (I still have to make a tutorial on that)

Detail in copper for the point of the sheath (already drilled)

Spraying destiled water on it so it can retain the powdered enamel later.

Powdering the enamel on it, sifting it through a regular coffee strainer.

Piece inside the oven to get cooked. I use that inverted U shape piece to insert and retrieve the piece from the oven easily, with just a steel bar.

When you took it off the oven, the hot glass looks almost black, it gets the real color when it cools off.

Cooled off and finished piece.
