I'm heading to Reno for a little vacation. Anyone have any knife shops in the Reno or Vegas area to recommend? I know I can search on the Spyderco website, but I'd like to find somewhere with a large stock, so I can check out some of the more unusual models. Based on my experience with the dealer finder, suggestions range from places with 1 knife (not model, one individual knife) to places with a pretty wide selection.
 
There weren't any good knife shops when I lived near Reno.

I hear there is one in Carson City now and that's only 20 minutes South on 395.
 
An issue of Blade magazine a while ago had an article on knife shops, and there was a large, well-established knife shop on the Strip in Vegas. I do not have the info handy, but perhaps a "yellow pages" search on the internet would find it.
 
There are no really knife shops in Reno other than some of the gun shops have a few, and as far as the one in Carson City I worked that store part time for over a year, and he does not stock hardly any Spyderco(may a dozen), and carries mostly Benchmade, Boker, Kershaw Browning, and quite a few autos in Microtech, Protech, etc. He buys where he gets his broadest profit margin as he sells at a discount, and if the profit margin is narrow he does not stock those brands. Unfortunately where he gets his Spyderco knives from the distributor he deals with the profit margin is narrow. He only has a couple of companies where he can buy direct, and Spyderco is not one of them.
