I just received a Large Chinese Folder made by Bob. The blade is 440V and it has polished carbon fiber scales. What I've notived about Bob's knives is that the lock up on the liner lock is as perfectly solid as it is going to get. There is no play at all in the blade. I think it was mentioned before, but about the only thing that there is to complain about is that the pocket clip, which is also handmade, shows tool work from bending of the Ti. I am growing very fond of the wide leaf-shaped blade. I think Bob has developed a style all his own when it comes to the Chinese Folder.

Would you mind sharing with the rest of us where we can find Bob's works on the internet?

Man, if I had a digital camera I would post pics. I spoke with Bob a few days ago and he will be atending the Oregon Custom Knife Show and the Solvang show in April. At the time, he didn't have anything available so he said he would be extremely busy making knives for the show. His wait time right now is 6 months to a year.

Thanks guys,
you have all been very helpful.
I got the spyderco chineses folder a few months back. I really enjoy the design and utility of the folder. there is moderate side-to-side blade play. I am sure bob's customs would be devoid of such defect.
I really want to get one. I heard it's about 400-500 dollars. Is that correct?

The lock up on my Lum folders (handmade) are rock solid. I also noticed some bladeplay on the Spyderco. Have you tried to tighten the pivot to see if that helps? The last I heard, Bob's price on a large Ti frame folder is 525.00 Lots of money, but a great handmade using knife.
