Hello All,
Here is the latest addition to the Buck production slipjoint line. Yellow smooth Delrin scales, rounded bolsters from traditional Buck slipjoints, called 'ComfortCraft' design by them. Found in models 301,303,309 and the small 305. For you 'Yellar' knife folks. I have said in the past I would like to see the top angle on the 309 clip blade moved back toward nic, seems too abrupt of an angle to me. Nice sharp 420HC blades. New style scale plate, your call on that one. Being 'traditional' I would like to see a nickle scale plate with just BUCK stamped on it, much as Case does. But there would be a hundred different options if everyone had their way. All spots on these knives fit tight. Scale rivets are round headed.

I just don't care for shields like those...tho on a yellow knife they aren't too bad. The slanted bolsters are nice.

I hope they made a lot of them, cause I got a feeling they are gonna sell...

I think they look really nice. Buck should have done this a long time ago. Btw NS or SS bolsters?

I look forward to them when they hit the shelves.

God Bless

very nice. Have to add to my want list.

Amazing how I have an image of Buck slippies being black sawn delrin

Look good in Yellow!!

Man those are nice. The points look good, the slanted bolsters are a nice touch too. I wish they would use carbon steel then I would be getting one in a mili-second.

Now those are some nice looking knives. Definitely need to get one of those sometime before they're all gone. Then again, there's also the new ecolite line. So many knives, so little money...

Buck hit a homerun with that one. I am glad they are finally offering something beside the black delrin in their regular production slippies. With the Dymawood, Cherry wood and this one Buck has really made me Happy. I love slant bolsters on a slippie.

Aside from a few custom shop jobs in Damascus, has Buck ever produced a non-stainless steel knife? I don't think they have, but I'm no Buck expert.

Pretty much just some VERY early fixed blades made of files, and a few D2 special editions over the years.

The shields aren't doing anything for me but overall those are nice looking. I really like Buck's 420HC. I see a 309 in my future. :)

Thanks for posting this 300Bucks.

I asked this in another thread about these knives, but I am not sure if I ever got a response. Are these going to be permanent patterns/scale models, or is this going to be a limited run?

I hope they're made in China. Better than case at 1/10 the price. Get 'em now before the Chinese find out how underpriced their stuff is and quadruple their prices.

Follow-up to comments.

Made in the USA. Yellows are production line knives. The black sawcut is the standard bearer of the Buck slipjoint line. It changed slightly with the scale going from Delrin to Valox material. Did you know the knife, hammer and bolt shield is not a shield. It is a raised panel intergal with the liner, fits thru a scale hole and is stamped. Can't fall off because of glue faliure..... The Chariman series Cherrywood scales and the Dymondwood scale series share the same scale material just in different color. For 2010 both of the Cherrywood and Dymondwood lines will have the new 'Comfortcraft' rounded edge shapes. So will the Yellow series. The black sawcut Valox remains 'square' edged and the Limited Edition Boone and Crockett series also shares square edge shape and that LE series uses the new Paperstone scale material.

My dumb guy opinion would say that, if history is an indicator, after a few years one model is dropped to put another variation into production. (Only so much factory space) But the black sawcut has remained the standard bearer since the 1980's.....

Steel options, very seldom and few. Usually associated with Limited Editions. But be aware Buck now has its own laser blade cutter for production level output. Soooo lets hope for some standard production SV30 or even the Sandivic steels that they are using on other models.....

If anyone is ever at a knife show where the factory has a booth, stop and give the folks your opinion. You never know........300Bucks
