I haden't made a big knife in a while, i've been concentrating on folders but I had this on the workbench and finally finished it up. I did not grind this blade, I milled it out on a milling machine. Set it in a fixture at 10deg in a vise and milled away most of the material. It left a good finish but I used the grinder to touch it up. I made a post about this a while ago and here is the finished product.

Blade is 1/4 stock W-2. 7 1/4 in long. Differentially tempered, double quenched and double tempered, with visible temper line, but does not showw up well in this pic. Overall length is 11 5/8. Bolsters are copper, scales are parquet desert ironwood with mosaic pins. Excellent balance and weight.
Thanks for looking,
Chuck

That's another real beauty Chuck. I still think you are at your very best when you do simple. Your knives like this one have a grace and a life all their own that seems missing in some of your fancier folders. ('course they ain't have bad either ;))
