New dragonfly, any news?

Hi guys,
I've heard d'fly is in for upgrade.

I hope it has steel and clip upgrade but not quite sure whether I should
wait for the upgrade.

Any info regarding new dragonfly?

Sal has been talking about it for years. There is no real news about it that I know of, just that he plans on updating it sometime. No specs or anything that I recall hearing.

Thanks for the update. Maybe I better go for one now... AUS8 isn't that bad for office work, right? ;)
 
Just get one now and then get the new one later. That's the beauty of Spyderco prices.
 
I just cut the frn clip off and carry it in my watch pocket. I use the Dragonfly more than any of my Spydies. I lost one Dragonfly because of that frn clip.:mad:

It will more than likely be an '07 update. When I polled last, there weren't that many improvements suggested. A metal ambi clip and upgraded steel were the main requests. I can think of a few more minor refinements to add, but we're still a year away (new tooling is required).

Ok, then I'd better go for one now, and buy another next year.;)

Spydies are definitely addictive. Can't stop buying them.. I already
have 4(Endura, delica, native, and caly.jr which I lost..) and still
want bunch of them more. :D
 
I like the Dragonfly, but when it's folded, it's a little wide- couldn't carry it very easily clipped inside my pocket. That's my only gripe with it... otherwise it's great.
 
I would like to see the scales redesigned. These are the old delica esque scales, and while they work well, they just look cheap. Maybe we could try the Delica/Endura 4 pretty FRN scale route, which are a huge improvement in my opinion. As a side note, is there some way you could do a G10 Compression lock Cricket, or maybe just one side G10 and the other side the SS frame lock? I'll probably buy an SS cricket pretty soon....just love that blade shape.
 
Steel liners in the dragonfly while maintaining the current width and I think I'd carry one with my all the time. That would be amazing.
