Fallkniven have a launched a new knife called the Kolts Knife.

From their site:

The KK knife (the Kolt Knife) is a traditional designed knife where the clean lines dominate the blade, the handle and the sheath. The history of the design goes back to the times when the knife was a common tool in your daily life, no matter if you were a hunter or a farmer. The knife is not intended for waist belt carry. Instead, it is intended for parts of the body where access to the knife is at best, like in your pocket, or around your neck. By offering a safe, comfortable handle, and a very strong blade with an extremely sharp edge, the non-aggressive design provides a knife which should fit any hand, and any task. The safe click-lock, hygienic zytel sheath protects the edge and stores the knife safely when off duty.
Steel
Satin finish laminate 402J2/CoS steel, HRC 60.
Edge
The edge should be a convex, pretty thin so called ICE edge, improved convex edge.
Blade
Wide, hidden tang construction, lanyard hole of standard size.
Handle
Thermorun handle with checkered sides.
Crossguard
Black stainless crossguard, securely fastened to the blade tang. Since the sheath will lock over the crossguard, it’s important that the crossguard has got the same length and shape from sample to sample and also that it cannot be removed.
Sheath
The sheath is in injection molded polyamide (zytel) where a lever is locking over the crossguard. The sheath has got a thumb press notch for releasing the knife from its sheath on top, the release power should be equivalent with the force of around 10 N (10 kp) or 1 kg. This force is adjusted with the thickness and length of the locking lever of the sheath. The sheath is made with small tolerances for avoiding the edge to faulty cut in the sheath.

Mod. KK
Total length: 185 mm (7.3")
Blade length: 85 mm (3.35")
Blade thickness: 3.85 mm (0.15")
Tang: Broad, Hidden
Weight (knife): 84 g
Steel: Lam. CoS
Blade hardness: 60 HRC
Handle: Thermorun
Sheath: Zytel blade-cover

And now for the pics :D

I like the idea of a small fixed blade with a slim sheath designed for pocket carry. But wheres the hole in the sheath for neck carry?

Another small concern might be the little sheath-tab that clicks onto the guard. Being zytel, it will probably wear down over time, although it might take a VERY long time before that becomes a problem.

All in all, i like it

I like the design of the knife a lot. Thanks for posting this as I hadn't seen it yet.

I share your concern over the sheath.

That looks like a wonderful little, but capable knife.

I'm crossing my fingers they release it in a full-tang blade blank like others in their lineup.

I would like EDC fällkniven a lot, but unfortunately, they suck with sheaths.

There is a hole in the end of the sheath. It goes from one side to the other which is why it does not show on the pictures.

I like the sheath.
I often wish I had a sheath that simply covers the blade and nothing else.

As much as I dislike Nut’nfancy, I have to agree with him about sheaths. There are too many over-engineered, over-sized, overdone designs out there.

The two totally different sides of that concept is on the "simple" side the sheath for the KK and the Airforce sheath for the F1 and on the "complex" side the sheath for the LMF II.
Maybe OT, but if they offered the LMF II without serrations, convex, flat or scandi grind, with a smaller, flat pommel and a less "combat" sheath it might be popular in the bushcraft community. But then it might look like the BK2.

i like it!
one of the reasons why i like my F1 so much is because of its compact sheath. for a 8+ inch package i can still easily pocket carry it in my jeans. and my jeans arent very baggy.

I am liking that design, very cool. Looks like it is comfy in the hand and in the pocket.

A nice looking "pocket" knife. There are some interesting youtube clips of testing the Fällkniven Zytel sheets vs Kydex and leather, when it is cold and everything is soaked with water that then freezes, the zytel seems to be the best material for subarctic conditions. In cold conditions plastics get fragile and can break or there is not enough "give" to get the blade out when you need it.

The Fällkniven home is just south of the northern polar circle were you can get -30 centigrades at winter so that is a very important design feature.

The easiest thing to do would be to make a nice looking leather cover for the zytel sheet.

It is Cobolt steel in the center and 420J2 on the sides. The Cobolt steel is somewhere between VG10 and 3G.

I like the blade and the low profile sheath, but handle doesn't look comfy to me. I think I'll pass

Is there a hidden pocket, or do you just put it inside the shirt above the belt? It's very nice looking, by the way.

I really like this knife! The more I use Fallknivens, the more I like them. The WM1 is my favorite, this one might give it a run for it's money.

I especialy like the blade profile of this knife it looks very useful for lighter task. I'm pretty fond of Fallkniven as a company and would love to give this knife a go as an EDC knife. The sheath while simple looks plenty reliable and useable to me. I too am unimpressed by over engeneered sheaths and would be more than happy with this one.

I agree with res1cue, it looks as though the handle design has been dictated by a sense of symmetry not ergos.

I'm underwhelmed by Falkies latest offerings despite loving my two F1's...

Looks nice to me! I can see that being a comfy little user. Hopefully the price tag is reasonable...

I kinda like it.
I like knives that are curved down at the end of the handle like that. It fits my hand.
