There's been some talk about the new GEC 3-7/8" lockback, but I just saw this one on their website as well. What a great pair of blades!

The ad says 4 inches, but it's the same EE as all the rest of theirs at 4-1/8". I know I'm in for one, when they come out in bone. Ya'll sing out--what do ya think?

I think it's a great blade combo. I'm partial to their acrylic and I like the guitar shield. I'd go for the one in the pic myself.

I'm going to be all over that one, especially if they bring it out with a different shield.

The guitar shield seems cheesy to me.

guys you are correct the length is 4.123. the blades look as one of them may have a new profile however sources close to that brand said photo angle sometime causes distortion of actual shape . mine is ordered & i'll report the details.

I like it. I have a preference for the turkish clip blades. It's nice paired with a sheepsfoot.

I do not understand why this Co.,can't get some new frame designs going, instead of just configuring new blades in the same frames

My guess is because new tooling cost money.Trying to build a new company up,in these economic times, cant be easy.I would also like to see some new patterns, but if they can keep their quality at the present level,I guess I can wait a bit. Id rather have limited choices that are top quality, than 50 choices of lesser quality.

That may be,I definitely do not know
But if knife guys, are like me,how many different scaled, same pattern knives can U accumulate,in,these same economic times as you speak of.
I think they would sell more knives, with a new handle & these blades, rather the same handle with these new blades
Just me
But they def have great stag & bone & quality is up there, for sure, from the few I have checked out.

i agree with Classic Case on quality being the 1st parameter as opposed to pattern variation.one desiring variations only needs to look to myriads of handle material. mine is ordered.

I like the blades. I'll wait for bone as an option and that shield needs to go. :)

No kidding. It's just like what we wanted, except not in bone yet, but the Wharnie blade is even better than the spear in my opinion. I just wish it was a 1/4" shorter and had the secondary blade a little smaller for fine work.

Alright already..we know you can come up with weird combinations of blades and handles and shields, etc., but that's just a weird looking knife. I'd like a sausage and mushroom pizza please and top it off with some Cool Whip or give me that knife right there. :D Seriously those blades don't look right in that handle. Something that is called a trapper should have a trapper shaped handle, shouldn't it. And what does "Furtaker Trapper" and "Tango" and a guitar shield have in common except that it is on that knife. Does anyone at GEC ever study old patterns?

Anyway, that's what I think. It certainly is a great pair of blades though ;)

...notice I didn't say anything bad about the "Mother of Brunswick" handle. It's actually the best part of the whole knife. :D
