Hi all.
I am a regualar at the Busse Combat forum. I have been looking for a cool folder to replace my Spydie. Don;t get me wrong the spydie is good but its a little too soft. Had to keep resharpening it like every other day. So I think I have decided on the SIFU. Got a guestion though. What exactly is G-10? The reason I liked the spydie was because it had the plastic thin handles that didn't dig into my hand if I reached in my pocket for say my keys or wallet. I got rid of two microtechs because their aluminum handles where just too stiff and blocky. So comfort is important. I can see the SIFU has nice rounded edges on the handle but does it lend itself to being very flat and not so in the way. i know it's a big knife but I'm a big guy and have deep pockets so that won;t matter. But the question of the day is... what is G-10 and what can it be compared to easily. Thanks guys.

I think I've read that G-10 is made from sheets of fiberglass cloth, soaked in epoxy, compressed, and baked. But that doesn't mean anything to me. I love G-10, and you will too. It provides a good grip under any conditions. It's nearly indestructible. No matter what you do to it, it still looks the same. I strike matches on my G-10 knives. It's comfortable feeling, not too rough. It smooths out nicely and never gets slippery. I think G-10 is the ultimate knife handle material. Go to any knife/gun store/show and, even if they don't have any REKAT knives, they will have something in G-10. Or if you have any knife knut friends close by, they should have something in G-10 too. You'll love it, don't worry about a thing.

The REKAT G10 scales are very similar to the Spyderco Military in feel and thickness. Put simply, the Sifu is simply amazing in the ergonomics department, it's very "thin feeling" in the pocket but the shape seems to fill your hand well in actual use.

The ATS34 blade version are good, if you need edgeholding. The new D2-M blades will be simply outstanding, among the very best folder steels currently available from anybody. Only M2 and the very best high-tech stainlesses such as 440V will be in the same ballpark.
