Yesterday I went up to Boonville and had the opportunity to watch Bruce forge out a tomahawk head. I took my mini-dv camera and filmed him making the entire hawk from start to finish. We hope to turn it into a tutorial video. I was also fortunate enough acquire the hawk after he finished it. I'm proud to have a piece of Bruce's work. Here are a couple of pics. Let him know what you think! -chris

Thanks for posting this Chris..
The Head was forged from a 1 inch round rod of 5160.I show thw whole process on the video from The first heat on the bar through how I split the hole to run the drift through,And shaping the head .Plus we show how to hand shape the handle and how to do the decorations on the Hawk.We are hopping to have the video available within a couple of weeks if anybody is interested.Chris will be handling all sales of the video.

It is a beautiful hawk Chris but what do you expect from Bruce. I swear he must have a lever on that forge. He makes a selection, pulls the lever and out pops a perfect whatever he wants.:D
By-the-way, what's the L.O.A. on the hawk....from the tip of the spike to the edge of the blade?

Thanks for the kind words everybody...

Bruce B. it isn't in video stores yet But we will let you know when it is available:cool: ;)Now that would be cool,to walk into a video store and see my video on the shelf to be rented..

Now that you guys mention it,The size of the Hawk head was never measured or mentioned in the video:eek: Guess we will have to edit that in some how...
