I'm fairly new to this site and have been enjoying the knowledge
you all share, so I'd like to tap in.

I have a value question and I hope this is the proper form to post, if not mod's please feel free to move. That said I picked up a new
AL MAR bowie back in the late 80's, 15.5" oal, 9" blade, 4 1/2" serrated top, 1/4" stock, AL MAR & logo on port side, Seki Japan on starbord side,
hollow handle wraped in red, double pouch on the sheath. The knife is 90%+
the sheath is at 70%. Can anyone give me an idea of it's worth?
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to BladeForums, Huntersun.

The question that you have would probably be better answered in the Bernard Levine forum.

What model of Al Mar do you have? In 1989 the Model SF-10 survival knife sold for $230.00, the S.R.R.E. Model V was $210.00 and so was his version of the S.O.G. special forces leather handled knife. I have no idea what they are worth today though.

I don't know anything about that knife though, I was still into cheapies in the 80's. Have you tried Ebay? Just a thought....
