Hello everyone,
I am a new HI Forum customer
. I had been introduced to Khukuri's by my brother in law back on Memorial Day. Next thing I know, I wanted to buy a khukuri for use around my yard. At the time, I didn't have much money, so I ended up picking up a handless GH WWII model from Craig. I made a simple wooden handle for it and started to chop with it around the yard.
Instant love affair with a khukuri's! A couple of months later, I picked up a loose handled GH SN1 which I wanted to try mounting up a leather handle for it (I gave up the idea and just mounted another wooden handle on it).
I ended up trading for a 20" HI village bhudini a couple of weeks ago - tried it out on a limb with great success: super chopper!
I liked the idea of a short heavy chopper and saw an HI AK with a repaired handle for sale and contact Uncle Bill (I waited too long and it got sold). I called him, and he did sell me a HI AK for a great price!
I try to watch for specials when I can.
I saw the BAS and immediately sent him an e-mail, and caught Uncle Bill on AOL AIM. We chatted for a bit, and I learned that we shared many similar philosophies. In the process I picked up a Chesapeake Bay Knife Club Khukuri (Christmas present from my wife or mother in law....LOL).
Both items arrived last Friday, and they are superb!
I was a little hesitant to post immediately since I was a GH customer first, and had been happy using their products. I know that there are a bunch of us BF members who own BOTH GH, and HI products. I hope that I can be welcomed here as well as the GH Forum. To me, the most important thing is that we ALL enjoy, use and respect khukuri's.
I want to thank Uncle Bill - "SOAG" for sending me products BEFORE he received my payment
. I greatly enjoy USING all of my khukuri's. I plan on posting here more often.
gratefully,
