Looks like we have a new startup knife company. Their plan is to produce high quality multiblades.

The folks at Amherst Cutlery will be at Blade (I think at Chuck Bybee's table) looking for input from collectors and makers and I will be drafting some of you guys to come by and talk to them. :D

Their website is under construction, but here is a taste. So far I love what I see.

excellent, always nice to have another fish in the pond! what they have up looks pretty good, my only critique is give the blades some long pulls or match striker nicks and swedges on the blades:D love the handles though.
oh and they need to make an elephant toe:D
thanks for the heads up

Anyone know anything about where their knives will be manufactured. I assume U.S., but that's often a dangerous assumption these days. Also, any idea about pricing? That stag mini trapper with AUS-8 steel looks amazing!

At this point they are just getting organized.

Some of their offerings look rather small. Thats fine with me. That Canoe is sexy. A small Half Whittler would be nice to see.

Sounds great!

I'll keep an eye out for more info on them. Another maker in this style would be great.

Some nice knives, now If they start offering a line of carbon steel knives with jigged brown bone...
I'll have to keep an eye on them.

Thanks Gus

always good to see a new company come along.
Looks like they will be offering nice quality pieces.....

I would love to see an equal end cattleman with quality carbon steel blades.

They will be hearing from this member of the "peanut gallery" this weekend. :D.

Those look great!
Let those of us un-Blade-going-because-i'm-working peeps know what you find out.

I like all around, but I'd be drooling over a basic line with bone and carbon steel. :D

Been too long since a knife company called Ohio home (RIP Christy), this is good. :)

I am pretty sure they are focusing on a higher end niche for now, but I like the thought of a basic carbon steel line and often wonder why we do not see more of those types of knives available. I would think a solid lineup of A2 or 1095 traditional knives in bone would do well for someone.

Anyway, it is exciting to me to see the work they have done and I am anxious to see what they have done in person.

Peanuts.

They need peanuts.

Yup. Can't never have too many Peanuts in the Peanut gallery.

And I agree with Bastid on the carbon steel issue; I've waited for more than a year to get a Case CV Large Stockman w/6.5 scales. I can't get to BLADE, so whoever does go, please throw in a vote for me for some carbon steel models . . . :)

thx - cpr
