I'm really happy with that one. I think the base design has a lot of room for minor variations.

Cuts like you would not believe, just about the perfect size knife in my opinion. I haven't worked her hard yet, but it's coming.

I do like the modifications I see between the two pics. I think this model has some GREAT potential. I also LOVE the butterscotch micarta, probably my favorite handle material.

Wowza, what a woods knife! This sucker is a cutting machine! Can't say enough about handle comfort- it's just perfect. Incredible control for all kinds of cutting. I just plopped down for like 40 minutes to process some green wood and get a feel for it along with a few other favs. I hope to give it a spin the kitchen this w/e. The tip is a drilling machine as well. Gotta say the sheath is just carry perfection as well!

hmmm, I know the blade is 4" from the tip to the scales- measured for someone last night...maybe Christof will be along for the rest?? Does remind me of something I was gonna post. When I saw the photos and got and handled the knife, I wondered about needing a 1/2" more on the handle...once I used it- not! So perfect...

The model name is "Great Basin Bushcrafter"

The design elements involve a long clip that run back to the thumb ramp. The idea is to maintain some of the advantages of the leuku spine (straight and squared for scraping, safer to stick a block on for draw knife work) while reduciing the mass a bit and giving a dropped tip.

The guard section can be done with either the handle integral guard or the bare metal. Both work, it depends a bit on mass. C Bryatn's one is the bushcraft challenge knife, the guard is left very wide so that you can use your index finger on the guard.

I've got a "GBB" on the way very soon! I can't wait to get this blade in the woods:thumbup: I don't think I can handle the wait...:D

Hah! Congrats! I was just stropping mine...heading towards a mirror finish on the edge...can't wait to get it out again!

Your "GBB" looks awesome and the pics are KILLER!! I just thought you would have a "Samuel Adams" Summer Ale instead of a SN SummerFest...:D I'm just gonna have to keep starin' at your pics until my "GBB" arrives. As Tom Petty says, "The Waiting is the hardest part". Have a great weekend!
