Been mulling this over pretty hard for the last few weeks. I decided to go ahead and JUST DO IT!!

I will be hosting a mini show with three other makers. It will be the last week of Sept or the first week end of October 09, and will be every other year. I will disclose the other makers in a week or so as I need one of them to firm his commitment.

I really like the idea of collectors getting a more in depth view of my business and future plans. There will of course be demonstrations, a preview of the knives that will be for sale, and some serious food. We will roast a whole pig one night, have prime rib or beef tenderloin the other. I also want to do a little shooting. I have my single shot barking, so everyone is welcome to try it out, and a clays shoot with a knife going to the Top shot.

It's early enough in the planning to take suggestions, so even if you won't attend mine, please let me know if there is something that you think would make the show better. In as much as I am making an announcement, I would be thrilled with a discussion.

This sounds like an absolute blast and I really hope I'll be able to attend. Sept. / Oct. works better for me than some of the earlier dates you had in mind, so the odds just went up. :)

What demonstrations did you have in mind? Some sword cutting would be cool.

Whose next. ;) :)

But seriously, the more the merrier as long as the industry can support them. Like I said in the other thread, I really like the format.

You will be doing a mini-show within a month of the AKI....you can consider the meaning of that.

I like the idea, I like the format, and there is one FOR SURE that I will be at next year, Josh Smith's show....because Owen Wood and Don Fogg will be there is the cherry on top.....it is a good time of year, and Montana is really nice to visit, unless you are a sheep.

There is no down side that I can think of, except the potential of bad timing and who is attending as an exhibiting maker....these choices are crucial.

Best Regards,

I really like the whole weekend hammer-in, mini-show idea. Having gone to the last one Josh Smith put on, one thing I know for sure, there is a lot of work that goes into making them a success.

That's one of my observations as well. Josh Smith and the ABS collaborated on the hammer-in side. I don't know for sure what resources the ABS brought to the table but it had to relieve some of the pressure on Josh and his family.

However it works out, Bailey, I'm sure it will be a blast! Keep us (me) posted.
