New, old, Blackhawk

Picked up a Blackhawk on E-bay, new in the box. I'm told it was a precurser to the Native. What a cool little cutter this is! Anyone else have one? Mine has a liner on one side and a 50/50 blade of Gin-1 Stainless.

Have some Blackhawks and Renegades and like the single linered ones best despite them being partially serrated.

My EDC is a 50/50 blackhawk that I reground to a plain edge, I really like it

I too really liked the Blackhawk when I had it. However I think it would be a great candidate for being re-introduced with one of the newer blade steels like ZDP-189 or VG-10, BG-42 or anything but GIN-1. GIN-1 was by far not the worst steel I ever had in a knife but I just couldn't get any of my GIN-1 knives to hold an edge longer than 2 days or so. Plus it was not the easiest steel to bring the edge back.

Bring it back in a new blade steel and you will probably have a "barnburner" on your hands.

I have almost all variations of the blackhawk.

I got mine in late 94 or early 95. the screws came out when I was at the ROS in 1995.

I have linerless PE,SE,CE and liner PE,CE with Aluminum and G10 handles.
