The "pocket prybar" thread(s) got me thinking. What I'd really like to see is a utility-oriented AXIS lock with the hardened stainless liner thickened and extended beyond the G10 scale on one side. This extension could then be shaped to function as a prying tool.

I just use my neck knife for prying, works great, if that is not big enough then i'll use my custom 4" Fixed blade, its 3/16" thick of L6. I cant break is prying(i have tried) so im pretty sure anything that needs prying can be pried with it. And if that fails i have a big ass prybar at work i could use :D

I use the short wide flathead screwdriver on my LM SuperTool 200 for all small prying and it works great. Try as I might, I haven't been able to break it yet. Worth a look if you don't already carry one.

I actually don't do much prying. I carry a Wave and the pliers or one of the screwdrivers suffice for my prying requirements. I was just looking at my 806D2 and thought "Hmmm . . .What if . . ."

Agreed . . . If I were more interested in defense, I think I might file the G10 at the butt of my 806D2 down at an angle to the stainless to create a small-area stainless steel "skull crusher." Just imagine a line accross the scale right behind the rearmost spacer screw. You would file from that imaginary line down to the stainless liner right at the butt of the knife. The G10 is pretty tough anyway thoug, so this mod is probably not necessary.

For a pocket prybar, you might want to check out Peter Atwood's Prybaby.

It's a purpose-built pocket prybar with a sharpening stone, a seatbelt cutter and some other neat stuff like a wire stripper built into it.

There's a mini keychain version already out and some bigger and smaller sizes in the works.

D'OH!

I saw this thread and couldn't find the one it referenced. Didn't occur to me that it was about the prybaby.
