I'm prety new to the whole knife thing in general. Multi-tools have been my thing till now, but I've been looking into a good all-around, ambidextrious, edc-type folder. I steered clear of Spyderco at first cause so many of the designs look prety unusual, but looked at them again and decided that the delica/endura ss might be just what I'm looking for. Simple design, good blade steel, and a little weight. Any thoughts? And one more newbie question-whats ZDP?

SS Delica or Endura would make a great first Spyderco. They just recently upgraded the design, so the new models have VG-10 blade steel, which is a big improvement over the AUS-6 of the old models.

Definitely a great choice.

As for ZDP-189, it's a relatively new blade steel with freaksihly high edge retention. It's THE new steel out right now. Takes and holds a scary edge.

Hi!

smcfalls13 is right, Delica 4 SS is just a superb knife!

Also, I had ZDP Calypso Jr. and I'm EAGERLY expecting blue ZDP Delica 4 - ZDP-189 is just awesome! :D

P.S. greetings to all, again! (I had account here back in Y2K.) :D

Thanks guys, I just went out a picked up a delica ss plain edge, and its exactlly what I was looking for. I love the feel of the handle, weight, and all the clip choices. Should be a perfect edc.
