First off, hello to everyone. I'm a soldier by trade and so I'm into the usuals, rifles, knives, 4x4's. I'm sure I'll run into several familiar faces around. :D Anyhow, on to my question. Someone over at the Snipers Hide board mentioned that this may be a good place to come across a custom sheath maker. I have a Buck Nighthawk, black, tanto w/serrations about 8 months old. It's what I carry as my field knife, in addition to my Victorinox knife. I love the Nighthawk, no problems whatsoever with the knife itself - now the sheath is a different story. I hate the original sheath and would like something a little more rugged and a lot more useful, probably out of Kytel. I like the newer sheaths in the Kabar line, I plan on purchasing a 1214 before too long as well. However, right now this is my one and only field knife and I need a way to better hold it. I did some searching but didn't find anyone recently mentioning a custom sheath for it. I hope you guys can help me out, I can already see that this is gonna be another one of those money pit forums I have the tendency to find. I don't think my wallet can handle many more hobbies :D Thanks much.

Lonetoysoldier,
Welcome, and thanks for your efforts on behalf of our country. I know there are several sheath makers here, but unfortunately I can't remember their names right now. You might go to chrisreeve.com and find out about the guy they use, I know his name is listed. I think all the stuff they use is leather though, but the guy does custom work, so maybe he can handle Kydex as well.

I would recommend that you check out the work of fellow forum member, Normark (Eric Noeldechen). His company is On/Scene Tactical.
