Hi all,

I'm going to make this an intro thread at the same time. A while back I received a Kershaw Scallion Snap On (KERKNIFE2) as a gift from a forum member. That's what really got me hooked. Since then I have been getting a few blades here and there. :)

Here's a pic of the blades (in order) that I got them. Bear with me, I'm trying out a new DOF lens on the camera

And a lot more coming... just haven't had time to edit the pics. :)

I gotta say, I love Kershaw, although I am somewhat disappointed with their customer service even if I saw great things being said about them on the forums. Hopefully I don't have to send in 2 of my blades in to get a few screws replaced... I clearly explained to the person that I was located in Canada and that shipping/customs a was hassle, but I quote "Unfortunately, we don’t have those parts available to send out (the kerknife2 and the 1990). Those would need to be sent in to be fixed." -- This doesn't seem logical at all to me. If you don't have a few screws to send to me, why would I send in the blades to get fixed? If someone would like to spread a little light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

It seems they had the parts to send out for my Blur (pics coming soon) but for those 2 other blades it was an issue, anyways. I'll keep you guys posted.

Looking forward to getting to know you guys! Take care.

Too late, I'm going to hit the 4 digits pretty soon... after only 2 months. :D

Welcome! Its a lot of fun getting these Kershaw knives. They bring happiness into the world! :) If you are married begin thinking of the justification for the many knives you will purchase. As to the situation with the customer service, they dont stock parts for their all foreign made knives in the states. Its all produced over there as far as I can tell. I think they would look at your knife and then possible just send you back a new one, but of course they have to have the old one. There is a stick in the kershaw sub-forum that might have your answers.

welcome jawn! Love the snapon scallion! what bobsig said is true for the non us produced items.

Thanks guys! New pics coming soon... on vacation right now so I'm kinda lazy to edit them. :D

I believe that the problem with your CS issue stems from Oregon not having some of the spare parts readily available for their overseas-made knives. I know that some of the torx screws are different sizes from the US-made ones.

^^

Yup. Too bad. I'll have to resort scouting eBay for used versions of these blades simply to replace 1 stripped screw on each because they were put on too tight from the factory. I wouldn't mind if they have a place in Canada or if I was living in the states, but often the customs have their heads far up their * and they can choose to seize the blades. I am not willing to run that risk. It's a shame because Kershaw has great overseas blades.

the Half-Ton and Brawler were my introductions to Kershaw (and knives in general for that matter). a month later i own seven Kershaws, one ZT and one Benchmade. love everything about the brand...designs, functionality and price-points. that RJ II looks killer.

So basically for people out of the US the overseas knives offer no warranty since shipping the knife is the same price or maybe more than the price of the knife.

That to me seems like a major problem.

Updated with a few more pics. Probably going to end up doing a video overview for YouTube and I'll just link it here. I got a few more blades since I took the pics.
