I picked up an Estwing Sportsmans Hatchet this week and I am impressed
It has the fit and finish of a fine knife and great heft and balance.
I've tried it a bit and it chops like a dream too. Heres a pic:

Very nice! I am looking for a a hatchet/tomahawk that may be one i will look into to buy.

I've had one of those Estwings for many years and have gotten good use out of it. For dry conditions, I've developed a preference for the Wildlife Hatchet from Granfors Bruks ( www.gransfors.com ). However, I'm presently on a moist-weather vacation in Alaska and I brought the Estwing that is the big brother to the model you've shown. (And I'll admit that another reason is that I don't want any of my river running/fishing buddies messing up my Gransfors axes.) With a rubber handle, steel shaft, and more rust-resistant steel than the Gransfors, it is serving me well. That's especially true after both of the camp stoves on the last river run failed and wood collection became even more important.

If you buy a larger axe someday, consider the Gransfors Scandinavian Forest Axe. If it weren't so wet here, it would definitely be with me.
