Hello All !

Just joined the forum after doing research on the millie and paramillie models. Read lots of good imput from you all, and had to just buy both! I've owned several spydies over the last 10 years, but those two blades are really on another level! Just a quick question if anyone has a moment:

Read how a lot of you prefer a tip up carry, but couldn't figure out why!

Cheers-

Tim

Welcome Tim. If the IA in your handle means you are from Iowa, then welcome neighbor.
I am sure you will receive a lot of opinions about tip-up carry. I prefer it since the thumb is on the spyderhole before your hand leaves your pocket which makes for a quick opening. Just not a good thing for knives that want to open on their own.

Tim, glad to have you on board!

Tip-up carry is also good because it places the spine of the knife against the back of your pocket, which some say helps prevent accidental openings.

That being said, I prefer my Spydies tip-down, because it's easy to reach into my pocket, grab the Spyderhole with my thumb and index finger, pull the knife out, make a half-turn and flick the handle down to open it. This is called the Spydie Drop, and it's wicked fast once you get the hang of it.
