Found at a flea market this morning. The tang stamp looks like it is from 84 or 85. BTW, this is the last time both blades will be open at the same time seeing as how it has a single back spring.

Enlighten me. I've never owned a slippie with a single back spring. What difference does that make?

Oh, and a nice find. It's in great shape.

With both blades open the load on the back spring can cause it to break.

Nice knife by the way. :D

That makes sense. You'd never need to have both open at the same time anyway. Thanks.

I've got a vintage 309 that is basically worthless because it has 1, a severely worn blade and 2, it has a broken back spring. I'm gonna send it to BUCK, but, all they can do is send me a current model as they don't have parts to fix a knife of this vintage.

I'd call Joe H. at Buck he may be able to help you. If not, next call Leroy Remer and see if he'd be willing to take on the project. Still, a great find. DM

I spoke to both Joe and Leroy and they both said the same thing. The 309 is not repairable as there are no parts. Joe did say since the spring broke, that sounds like a warranty issue. The 313 however has no issues that I can see. The main blade looks full as does the other blade. It does, however, need cleaning. BTW, am I correct as to the vintage (late contract 84-85)?

Mitch,
That Pattern was made by Camillus between '74-85. Brass rivit and liner, Double Spacer, flat grind, 1 spring. Does it have an easy open notch for both blades or just the main blade? There are two versions... '72-'74 Camillus made this pattern but the model # was on the pile side.

Nice catch, I picked up one of those on this forum about 8 months ago. I really like the looks of a Muskrat but just never carry them.

There is a notch on both sides.

I don't know the date of mfg. on that one. It was made from 1973-98. Bear or 300. A good find. DM
