Nice Custom Sheath for Rat-7?

As it's my first post...
I've learned a lot from reading the discussions here, thank you all for putting so much knowledge and care into them. I wanted a good fixed-blade knife for camping, etc. I'd never put much thought into it and have spent some time here comparing my options.
After looking at knives that were within my alloted budget I bought the Ontario RAT-7 D2 combo edge. I just got it today. The panels were on straight and the knife seems fairly sharp out of the box (can't say that I know these things very well, YET, but I've got a Sharpmaker on the way so I hope to learn). If the tip flattens against a bread loaf I trust that their customer service will take care of me. I've done a bit of sanding of the micarta handle panels and I really like the way that the knife looks and now, feels.
I don't really care for the sheath, however. The button snaps aren't on straight, for one, and I want something of a bit better quality overall.
I don't know what I want to spend. Preferably not more than the knife, itself, as I would have gone with a Swamp Rat if I had been planning on spending $200. I may still do that, honestly. :) This could get expensive...
Any recommendations? I'm left handed, don't know if that makes a difference with these aftermarket/custom designs.
Again, thank you all.

I have Buy Brown kydex for my Camp Tramp. It is the finest I have ever owned (custom or commercial). I am also a lefty but as the belt loop and plate are removable you can have either side draw. Being a lefty, I prefer off-side as I don't like the stock of my rifle banging against my knife butt! There are also plenty of lashing holes for paracord, etc. It is friction fit and VERY secure while still offering a smooth draw. I can't recall what I spent but it wasn't any more than 30-35 bucks (mine is in woodland pattern). Quality stuff.

No problem. I forgot to add that I sent mine back for the "drop down" kydex extension. I am not heavy BUT with a blade/handle the size of a CT/Becker, I really needed that extra 3-4 inches so that it did not dig into my side, especially if the knife was worn on a GI pistol belt. All in all, I could not be more satisfied with a product and IIRC the turnaround time was well inside of two weeks and BB had the blade size in stock so I didn't have to mail my knife to him. Definitely, two thumbs up!

Eric...

Looked at Buy Brown, nice work but no Rat-7 sheath...
Thanks L, I appeciate the suggestion.
Normark, funny that you wrote me.
I looked at a thread that showed the sheath that you had made for another Rat-7 and liked it very much, just hadn't contacted you yet.

E-mailed you.
Thanks.

Normark is my Personal favorite :) . But if you are wanting leather. Armoralleather makes a hell of a leather sheath. Of course there are many many fine kydex, or leather makers around.

Thanks, nice leatherwork.
Don't see anything for my RAT-7 and I think I'd like kydex, anyway.
I could go with the Kydex/Leather combo that they offer but he uses flat kydex and if I wanted it molded I'd be looking at another cost ontop of the regular cost of the sheath...
just waiting for Eric to get back to me, I think I've made up my mind.
Thanks.

I just got a sheath from Normark for a Fallkniven A2. The pics never realy do it justice. I know one might say its only a sheath but you really have to handle it to see the beauty.

I have used Erics sheaths for a few years now with complete satisfaction. I slapped a TechLock buckle on the sheaths and they all have ridden quite well thru the shop, the backyard and the clubhouse.

I'm sold and am buying one from Eric that's not only in my price range but seems like exactly what I want. Seems harmless enough now... until I start buying knives just so I can have sheaths made.
Thanks for the feedback, take care all.

On/Scene tactial makes an excellent concealex sheath, see Normark (Eric's) picture above. Excellent workmanship and service.
