Hi guys
I'm new to the knife world so be gentle.
I just picked up a ZT500, and a Spyderco sharpener.
Is the factory angle on the blade the same as on the sharpener (20 deg)?
If not, do I need to reprofile the edge to 20 deg, or just use the existing blade angle?

Thanks for your time
Bob

Our knives are all sharpened by hand, so they vary slightly. But it should be between 20-22 degrees. Your 20 degree sharpener should work fine.

Can't blame a guy for getting excited! Nice o.d. scale by the way.

Heck, mine came dull so I hit it with the 25 deg. Lansky and it worked great.

My 550 worked fine wth the 20 deg Sharpmaker setting. It put a nice little microbevel on the blade and then I finished it off with a few strokes on a bare leather strop. S35VN really takes to stropping once the edge is set well.
