I believe some of you missed my point when I made a statement about the number of posts people have made on the Emerson thread. Of course there is no limitation on the number of posts and someone's informative value. I know people that wouldn't touch a computer that have more knife experience than most of the people on this forum. They don't own any tactical folders either but they have years of experience with knives. If they posted they would be computer newbies and knife veterans. I am happy to see new members as I am a new member.
MY POINT WAS--Everytime I see a post that seems to be wanting to start a flame war or rekindling a flame it is from someone that seems to have become a member to start such business. If someone has constructive criticism I'll read it and store it away for future reference. If someone comes on wanting to rekindle a flame war that should have never started in the first place and they became a member right before that post then I am suspicious of their motives. If you got a call from a friend that you have known for years (or even months) telling you of a business oportunity and the same call from an anonomous telemarketer or total stranger who would you give more credence to? You can not judge someones knife knowledge from the number of posts but if someone has a good rep on these forums and has posted for more than a couple of days then I am more inclined to listen to what they say. I lurked on these forums for a couple of months before I decided to start posting so I know about lurking, and I consider my knife knowledge to be better than many and worse than some.
I have stated this elsewhere but I guess I need to say it again after reading some of the replies on the Emerson thread. Criticism is criticism, but better taken from someone known to me (at least a little).
If this doesn't make sense then I'll be calling you all with an offer to sell ya a bridge! We'll see how long you stay on the line.
