I'll start this thread early. The New York Custom Knife Show (NYCKS) is celebrating its 30th year.

Nov 16th & 17th at the Park Central hotel 870 Seventh Ave at 56th St.

Two days only, but two long days: Friday 11-8pm / Saturday 10-7pm

I have planned to make this show, as I always have--as a collector. Through a stroke of good fortune for me, I have been allowed to be this year's show photographer. My Wife Susan will be my able assistant. :D

Please say hi, if you are passing through.

Fill this thread with your announcements and impressions.

I always enjoyed this show and really get withdrawls when this and ECCKS come about.

I spoke with Bill Pease yesterday and it's his 30th show! The last remaining maker to do all the shows. He made up some special pieces just for the occasion. Be sure to stop by and see him.

Coop, looking forward to the pictures. Have a great time.

Congratz Coop, I look forward to meeting Susan.
I'll be there with bells on...well maybe not bells...but something jingly...maybe spurs. :)

Joss, I don't know if all those photos were show photos. One example is mine, and that definitely didn't get shot at this show. Point Seven has always done the show and done a good job. Most are examples of Eric's work.

You have all seen my work and my style.

I've never been there, wondering what to expect. Will be there Friday morning for a few hours.

I always enjoying looking at Bill's pieces as in addition his expert workmanship, he always has such great handle material.

I was at the show for a couple of hours on Friday. Saw some nice blades. Lots of vendors seemed missing. Also less of a crowd than usual. Or was it just my imagination? I don't particularly like the hotel it was in; it feels like you're in a basement.

Hi Yitz--thanks for poking your head inside and saying "Hi!"

I have not given my official 'take' on the show, but I was very pleasd with the show--from my end. No, it was not impossibly crowded, but that makes for better dialog anyway. The quality of the makers/vendors present was exemplary, so why complain? ;)

What you may have missed was the resounding HOORAH! when Steve D'Lack announced over the microphone that future years will be hosted at the Crowne Plaza (Home of the other ECCKShow venue). That will change a lot.

News soon. I am midway through edits of some VERY fine cutlery. :D

I think Strider has changed the design for the PT, if I understood the guys correctly. The new one has a lanyard pull and no clip, as well as rounded (micarta??) scales and a stonewash finish. I really liked this new version, and if they'd had more than one I'd probably have picked one up.

Coop- if you could post *that one pic* I would be eternally grateful

Nakano, I am always running around in "red and black"

I am 5 6 I like long strolls on the beach and yukelele music :)

Coop!?

:D

...and virtuous Ron ain't! ;) I am *almost* finished with my edits and I wish to post the images as well. But.....

Wouldn't you know it, I got called upon once that by NOT getting full permission to post makers images was uncool. And so, you must wait for the larger cache while I am awaiting contact and approval from the last few clients. Fair enough.

That said, I have PLENTY of final go-aheads.... ;)

Ummm, I wonder why Ron would be sooo excited about THIS photo. :D (I'll let the story play out from RJ)

More next post....
