So talking to Jeff of bladegallery at blade show. He was quite interested in my antler keyhole bowie. So it looks like I’m doing another one. So why not step it up and make it even harder and even out the gray hairs.

So while I was at blade I picked out a nice sanbar stag crown.

So considering I’m not a big fan of exposed pith I needed to do somthing with the brow tine. I sketched this up today, I guess I also hate my self.

Looks like something to make a halfhorn scabbard of.
How much marrow does sanbar stag contain ? Is it like regular deer horn ?

I love the handle and the blade shapes. My eye keeps going back to the ricasso area. Maybe you'll tweak the design there. Either way, can't wait to see how it turns out.

I know you don't worry about money, being the independently wealthy sort, but that handle has to be at least 5K on the hoof. Good luck !!!

Yeah I have not sorted out the ricasso yet. I have been playing with some ideas for that area. I will sketch up a few and see how it looks.

You still haven't drawn in the tang. I want to see how that is going to affect the keyhole. Seems it will greatly weaken the strength ... not that anyone is likely to be chopping wood with it.
