Man oh man do I wish this one was stayin home with me!
This is my absolute most favorite bowie knife I've made to date! It is made of 3/16" L6 steel and is 17 1/" over all by 2" wide and the blade is 11 5/16" long. It features a satin finish, hollow ground , and a false edge. The guard is 304 stainless and the handles are black textured G10 with a red fiber spacer between the scales and tang. I made the sheath an edge forward carry to make it easier to draw.

VERY VERY NICE !

The handle and guard design is an absolute knock-out ! ! !

Excellent job ~

Now that's real motivation for me to get going on that piece of L6 you sent me about 3 YEARS ago:rolleyes: :(

Beautiful Bowie!!!

Well, it's not my favorite....NO Stag! ;)
But, the blade does look outstanding.
Nice work Mikey.

That is nice! being a short fella that I am, I'd probably have to install a small wheel on the bottom of that sheath so it would roll on the ground when I walked...;)

Great work Mike!

Wowsers, I don't think I've smiled this big in years, thanks forumites!!!!!
Neil chunk that old saw blade steel and get a bar of L6 from Admiral. It's very clean and grinds like butter. My next batch, ugh did I say batch, of smatchettes are gonna be in L6.
Leo, it's not heavy at all. It's full tang and I didn't drill any weight holes so it balances out well.
I'm definitely going to ba making this pattern again!

Michael,
Absolutely gorgeous. I stole a copy of your photo for my album. You have the touch!!!!!!........Ira

Holy smokes Michael!!! That has got to be one of the nicest bowies I've seen. Watch out Bruce Evans!! :D
