I've had my fun with the Military but I'm afraid I can't keep it.

So, I'm planning to get a new folder next year to compliment my Delica.

Criteria
3-3 1/2" PLAIN Blade
Flat or hollow ground
Preferably non metal handle
CPM 440V or VG-10 preferably
Tip up or down is not much of an issue
Cost not a real issue

Narrowing it down my choices are
Another Delica
A Wegner Jr.
Jess Horn Lightweight
Native
Rookie
Calypso Jr.
Standard

Okay, what should I get Spyderfolk?

TIA,
Smoke

Wait for the Wegner Jnr. in VG-10 and go that route then!

AND nag in Tim's ears in the meantime to get a move on in the manufacturing department of these models...

Ask Spark about the BF Native. It has a 440V blade and blue G10 scales. A beautiful smaller knife, I am carrying mine as I type this.

BF Native, definitely.

Everything you're looking for fits the bill.

If you are interested in the Wegner Jr. I wouldn't be sitting around waiting for the VG-10 model to come out. As I understand it that model has been discontinued. The ATS-34 is still fairly easy to find.

Well, yeah, what's not to like about the Walker? Except the price, of course! I know he said price isn't "really an object" but most people flinch when they see the price on that baby. My younger sister has one of the Walkers that were produced with blue almite handles and it is her favorite knife. And it retailed for around $70 if you could find someone willing to sell one.

I won't be happy unless I leave with one at the Heart of America show next weekend.

Later,
John

P.S. Next on the list is the Eduard Bradichansky Shabaria.

Calypso Jr. fits my hand like a dream, it's great working knife design.
Wait for lightweight version with VG-10 flat ground blade - you can't to go wrong with it.

I agree.
The Calypso Jr. Lightweight is one helluva good work knife. It has a lot going for it, not the least of which is that VG10 blade. I have a vicious love for both VG10 and CPM440V the way Spyderco does'em. They are both exceptional stainless steels.
The BF Native would be a hard to beat item also. It's one little blade that is "all that"!
A Wegner in VG10?! Sign me up!!

Why do they sterilize needles used for lethal injections?

I have the BF Native, Wegner Jr, and Calypso Jr Ltwt and agree with Misque and others on recommending these.

You may even give the Wegner (big one) a try ... more in the Military class but with a blade length more in line with what you're looking for. VG-10 model would be nice, but still a future prospect.

Calypso is better if you need something light.

Both BF Native and Wegners are solid hefty knives with steel spines ... kinda instills confidence.

I've decided to try and scrounge some cash. It's looking like I've overspent on knives.
No Rookie or Weg Jr. though.
