One question on Farid folders

Hopefully you all can help me. I checked past posts re Farid folders and found posts in '99 but none that address this question.
My recently purchased Farid has what looks to be a "misgrind" extending from the tip of the blade one-half inch back on the top or back edge of the blade. I was told he often does this "notching" to make his knives different or unusual. Is that the case, or is it indeed a defect in the making of the blade?
Thanks for your help.

This is likely to be a short clip. Not a mis-grind on the blade spine.

If you post a photo we might be able to tell you more.

Good Luck,

Larry

Thanks for the reply Larry. This is my first attempt at posting a pic, so I hope it works.
The pics didn't work.
As you can see (hopefully), the blade is a chisel ground, and the divot ocurrs in the flat side of the blade. In case the pic does not come up, a brief description is that the "dishing out" begins 1/16" from the tip and extends for 7/16", dishing in 1/16" into the 1/8" thick blade.
I'm familiar with a short clip, and I really do not believe that's what this is. The most descriptive term would be a 1/16" deep "dish" into the corner of the spine on the flat side of the blade. I could use my BurrKing to turn into a clip if desired.
If, due to a lack of a URL, the pics did not turn out, no problem. With your permission, I can attach them to email with no problem. If not, I know it's hard to describe in just words, and I certainly appreciate your time in replying.
Thanks, Ray
