Well my brand new rc-4 which I just put a razor edge on had a little mishap. I was in my basement testing out my new and beloved aquisition on some 2x4s I was a little overzealous when doing some tip work and missed the wood, driving the tip full force into the concrete floor. The result...not pretty :grumpy: I blew it big time. Now my rat has no teeth:( I am so pissed at myself for being so careless. I hope Jeff will honor my warranty even though I probably don't deserve it. Please let me know what to do to make a claim under warranty. Thanks

That's awesome. Thanks Jeff :D Between the quality of your procducts and your unbeatable warranty you definitely have a customer for life

No problem. Got your email and you should have a new knife at your doorstep soon. ;)

Depending on the damage, sometimes we just let the customer keep them. This particular one we want back to check the tip's Rockwell hardness so we're having the customer ship it back to Shon and then we will reimburse his shipping cost. Once it is tested it will be destroyed since we do not re-ship any knife that is considered damaged.

Man, what a warranty!!! and love the fact that you are going to try to see what went wrong, that says a lot about the company and its belief in its products......
cant wait to get a few more RATS to add to my collection. ( currently just have an RC-4)
Great work.

Thanks, I was wondering. I'm sure you don't have many come back!

I think we have replaced a total of 4 or 5 knives since we started RAT Cutlery.

Bummer to break a tip, but you'll have a new knife soon. Keep them boards off cement. LOL

Yeah I know. my work bench is just so cluttered right now, that I decided it would be easier just to set up on the floor. That's what I get for being lazy...and careless :o I'm definitely glad that I made the choice to go RAT though

I think you will find out something amazing if you take the piece of wood you were doing whatever it was you were doing and whittle it down to nothing.

1. Holds an edge well.

2. Resharpening is pretty easy if you know what you're doing.

3. No hot spots on the grip, you can whittle for a long time and don't have to have a brick mason's hands.
