Open-top IWB sheath for a balisong

I have a few balisongs I'd like to EDC, but they don't have clips. Anyone know of a soft leather/nylon sheath I can wear IWB with a clip that will allow me to slip in balisongs of different sizes for discreet carry? If I could use the same sheath to carry medium-sized folders too, that would be great!

I'm thinking of something like this, but obviously not as deep (3 - 4" long and 2" wide, with about 1" of depth). Is there a pistol magazine holder I could use, or would I have to go custom for what I want? I have a variety of FHMs I'd like to tuck into it depending on my mood. I believe the tension provided by my belt would keep the balisong in, and I think a slightly looser fit would make for a smoother draw. Would a sheath like that be durable long term?

I have made a few IWB sheaths for some LEO's.Your idea should work, but as far as seeing any commercially made sheaths like that,I haven't.Also leather or nylon would work, although obviously I prefer leather:D.A custom can be made, no problem but the cost will rise.Dave:)
here's one I made

That looks good, and I think the snap closure might be better than a clip since it would print less. I can legally carry balisongs, but I prefer to be discreet about what I have on me until absolutely necessary. :) Checking out your site now.

I felt like nylon would be better suited to carrying on my 5.11 belt, but putting a stag/horse bone balisong into a nylon sheath just seems wrong, so maybe custom leather is the way to go. Would one sheath work out for balisongs of different sizes? They're all about the same length, but vary in thickness and width. Being FHMs, I couldn't legally send them into the US (I live in Asia now).

Well, the width wouldn't be a big issue and the thickness only an issue if there was a large amount of difference.Obviously this wouldn't be a heavily molded sheath so it should fit most sizes.Dave:)

Sounds good to me! I shot you an e-mail about an hour ago. I only have two knives with leather sheaths--a BRKT golok and a Pakistani damascus D-guard bowie. The rest are sheathed in Kydex or are folders. Most of my leather experience is with pistol holsters (aside from shoes and wallets...lol), but I can't even own a gun here, let alone carry one. :(

Got my sheath yesterday and it's great! Very comfortable. I'll post pics up later. Thanks again Dave!
