Anybody have a user Bear and Sons piece with damascus blades? How does it perform? Ease of sharpening? Overall build quality?

I'm looking hard at a damascus stockman with stag scales but I'm a sucker for cutting performance. So it's a no-sale if it's just a glorified butter knife. Thanks for any input you can give. ;)

Don't havd one, but I handled their damascus bowie few weeks ago. The damascus itself is ugly. I saw many better damascus from local knifemaker here in Indonesia.
The bowie itself feels cheese. I won't buy it even for $60.

I have a small skinning knife, I like the steal, but the fit and finish isn`t the greatest. But for a user it`s o.k.

I had on of their Damascus Butterfly's. The damascus was unattractive and the handles were blocky. I didn't do much cutting with it but it didn't seem like it performed very well.

My personal feel is that Bear knives are ugly. Their slip joints just don't have the look. Fit and finish is usually bad and like others have stated their damascus is ugly. But this is just my opinion. If you search the archives you'll see that many people feel the same.

Regards

Robin
