opinions wanted on Ritter RSK MK1

I was interested in getting a new folder for EDC. I would like a RAT but since that is so far in the future I was considering a Doug Ritter RSK MK1 by Benchmade.. It looks like an upgraded Griptilian. Does anyone have an opinion on whether it is a decent knife for a folder. My RC 3 is my main EDC in a fixed blade so the RSK wouldn't see any hard duty ; mainly camp chores , some farm chores, dinner stuff and self defense. Thanks for your opinion in advance:)

It is my EDC. I had a little trouble sharpening until I got a strop but now it is always razor sharp.

Doug gave me one when they first came out so he could get my feedback on it. I used it for a while and loved it. However, when I was down working with the GulfPort police during Katrina, I gave it away to an officer there who had lost everything (and I do mean everything) during the hurricane. I found out later from Doug that there were some hurt feelings from Doug's business partner (not Doug) about me giving it away. So be it. Especially since I never guarantee anyone ink on a product that we're asked to test. The knife went to a good cause and there were plenty of reviews and write-ups on it by other writers about how good it was. Bottom line: you will not go wrong with anything Doug puts his name on. I like the folder and would still have one if there was someone who hadn't needed it worse than myself. ;)

I have used my RSK Mk1 for some time now with great results. I carry it when I go for hikes, etc. because I like to travel light when I am out in the sticks. So far, it has done everything I have wanted to do, and it locks up as solid as the day I got it.

That being said, I am looking at getting a RC-3 :)

Thanks
That convinces me. I guess I better get one ordered and on it's way. I'm leaving for a 10 day trip in a couple of weeks. My Rc 4 and this folder will be my 2 knives to go with me. I will be glad when when I can retire my Buck Mayo necker for an Izula though!:D

I have had nothing but good experiences with my Ritter Grip :)

For an EDC, or for an outdoor knife (if i'm not carrying my RC-4), it's great purchase.

The ritter is a great design. I have a couple of the M2 versions (both large and mini) and they are nice. I like the deper blade profile a lot. I have not tried he S30V version, but would expect it to be great. Steven

I got the new Ritter . Only had a day with it so far , so it is to early to form an opinion. I like the blade though . I definitely like the axis lock.I'm not to sure about the handle. The way I grip it may give me some hot spots to begin with if used for any period of time. Time will tell. It opens really nice and locks down solid and came shaving sharp, that's all a plus.

I EDC'd the Rittergrip in S30V at work and play for two years. Best EDC folder I've ever owned.
