Ordered Me a New Wallet

Up until now, I've typically bought Fossil or Columbia wallets; they're around $20-30 and last around a year. I guess I'm rough on wallets, because they only last about a year.

I ordered a Bosca Messenger-Credit Wallet w/ ID Pass Case. If it lasts more than 4 years, it's paid for itself, and it has a life-time warranty, which I'll be using if it starts to fall apart.

I might also order the matching Front Pocket ID Wallet w/ Money Clip.

Damn. I had to look that up. Looks like a $80-90 wallet. I can't imagine spending that much on a wallet, but to each his/her own. I'm rocking a $6 Walmart one. Has lasted a good 9 months and still holds well and looks good.

I always just use the inserts that come with a larger wallet and keep that in my front pocket so I don't kill my back like the guys with wallets and 50 cards in them. If I don't use an item on a weekly basis or HAVE to have it (ID, insurance, etc.), then it stays at home and out of my wallet. Cutting down on crap in my wallet has made them last a lot longer.

I know the $90 wallet sounds retarded; but, I'm expecting the warranty to be honored for as long as I have the wallet, which will be forever according to the warranty.;)

I thought buying a $30 wallet was a lot, until I counted how many I've bought in the last...say, 4 years. I can remember 3 wallets distinctly, so I'm pretty sure there were more. I carry my wallet in my back pocket, which probably helps to destroy it. Also, I carry misc. crap inside it. Why? Who knows. I have an 1889 Morgan silver dollar in there, about 12 bent-up business cards, etc.

I'll be removing all the crap that is nonessential (with the exception of the Morgan), and attempt to carry the new wallet in the front pocket.

I'm with you. I went thru a few fossils in the last couple of years. I was almost ready for another late last year, but my girl got me a Coach wallet with money clip for Xmas. You can definately tell the difference in quality from a $25 fossil.

I'm on my 2nd Bosca, and will never use another brand wallet. Why?
They're extremely well made and last virtually forever.
Their "Old Leather" takes on the nicest patina throughout the years and gets butter soft. Plus, the entire wallet conforms to your butt shape, making them very comfy to boot!
Some of the stitching around the edges of mine has worn out around the fold area, but it has no effect on holding the wallet together.
I think I've had this one for like 10 years now, and I'm sure it'll last another 10. But I'll probably want to get another before then. ;)

I also carry the Walmart front-pocket $6 special. Been carrying it for 2 years, not a sign of any wear.

And I much prefer the magnetic money clip.

It was my first front-pocket wallet and I'll never go back.

I discovered the All-ette about 3 years ago. Mine has held up great and most of the time I can't even tell it's there, and I carry quite a bit of stuff. Funny thing is that when it comes in the mail you better look careful because you could almost mistake it for junk mail.

Those Bosca wallets are sweet. The Civilian Labs Kevlar Clip looks good too. I have been sporting a Spec-Ops T.H.E wallet for about 3 years and have always wanted a small front pocket clip style wallet. The Spec-Ops is friggin huge and can be difficult to take out of a back pocket at times. This is good and bad. No pick pockets coming near me without grabbin a handful of ass.

Maybe someday I will progress up to a true pimp style wallet.

I used to have the Walmart models. Columbia, Dockers etc.

Ordered a SPEC OPS Wallet Jr. Big and bulky at first, but not a hindrance in the pocket. Just empty the wallet every weekend. No problems at all, and I've had it a couple years now.

I use Tumi pretty exclusively. I have been wearing my current wallet for 6 years, looks new. Nothing beats them for durability and quality. I have a computer case and luggage that I have had for 10 years and none of it shows wear. Worth every cent. Here's a nice wallet with a removable ID wallet.

I have a Tumi wallet that has lasted me for at least 6 years as well, also looks brand new. They aren't cheap though, I think mine was around a hundred. Not sure how the warranty is, but thus far it looks like I wont need it. I was also in the new wallet every year or so boat before this one. YMMV :D

The Bosca came in the mail today. It's nice wallet...well, it should be for $90. It's larger than the Fossil it replaced, but after removing some of the various cards I don't use, and 23 bent up business cards, it folds pretty flat.

It's too large for a front pocket. I'll probably get the front pocket wallet later on. I have some Koyote knives to pay for pretty soon.;)

But for value, it's hard to beat Duluth Trading's Smallet. $12.50 + shipping. http://www.duluthtrading.com/86028.aspx?src=T29WPSHP1#

First of all you have your Model T choices of colors (meaning black). Second, durable ballistic nylon, two card slots on one side, one on the other and a big compartment in the middle. More than enough. Gonna buy 2 and forget the Jimmi, All-ett. This one is better than my other two.
