Well folks,

With the approval of the gf i have ordered a custom buck 110 from the website :D

heres a screen shot of what i ordered.

ScreenShot0012.jpg

s30v blade, koa scales, nickle bolsters and tan leather sheath.

I have two walmart buck 110s and a buck 112 and love carrying them.

figured its time to get myself a custom, hopefully i dont get too addicted and start ordering a buncha different customs ;)

quick question for you folks, how long does it usually take to get the knife? i read that it is estimated between 4-6 weeks.

also, is the communication good? do they update you as they go? like the order has been received, the knife is being made, the knife is complete, the knife is shipped. etc... kinda thing?

thanks

JC

edit: this may be a stupid question to ask on a custom knife but, is the fit and finish good? thanks

thanks haebbie,

this baby's definetly gonna be a user.

does not having rivets affect the performance/durability?

i dont plan to baton the knife through wood but just wondering how it'd hold up to use around camp, fishing and hunting

No worries, jca, the glue buck uses for the scales is tough enough that it is
no Problem to drop the rivets.

Have fun with your beauty.

awesome dude,

glad to hear that and cannot wait! :D

any thoughts on the wait time and communication?

The wait time should be short. I think they often have a few of the popular models made up ahead of time.

I have one exactly like that except in BG-42.

Communicate your needs clearly and all will go well......if you get it and something is not to your liking, they will take it back and send you one that makes you happy.

:)

BTW......if the grain in the KOA is not like the one in the picture, don't be shy about sending it back. They want you to be a truly satisfied customer. There's been some muddy KOA around in the past couple years and you don't want to get stuck with one of those.

is that top one a custom vanguard?
No, it's just an interesting looking mystery Vanguard I found on the Bay.

It looks good, so I threw it in with the Customs.

:)
