When Spyderco came out with the James Keating designed Chinook I was sold on the knife. I figured it would be a great reverse close quarter fighter. The only down side was that the clip was too thin to sharpen so I asked Bill Siegle if he could take that basic bowie design and make me a fixed blade that I could use that was around the same size with a sharpen clip. Here is a preliminary photo. Bill is a great gent to work with. His tactical knives are soome of the best I've seen. This knife will be carried with a reverse grip sheath. I love the handle colors.

Thanks Bill!

Bill did a great job for you. That really is a nice knife you have there. Have you had a chance to use it yet? If so, how is it at doing the things asked of it?

I should have been more specific. Bill just sent me this jpeg today so I have not received the knife yet. Maybe this week? :)

I spent a lot of time with the Spyderco Chinook and that works well for me and since the design is so close I am sure that this fixed blade will live up to my expectations.

Did you get the email I sent you?

Boy I did do a good job on that one didn't I? OK, ego is in off position now.I think this thing will be an excellent utility blade and self defense knife. The sheath Greg asked for is set up for concealed carry using a Bagwell style stud and a cord. The knife draws with the edge foward in the reverse grip. From my little "play" session,it definitly has some great 1st hit possibilities. My advice would be to rest a loose grip on it if you anticipate trouble and simply tighten your grip and punch if they get stupid. It works pretty nice doing some traps too(practiced those on the wife before sharpening)If the PO is open monday(wife sayes it is)you should have it by Wednesday:D

Bill, you're a lucky man to have a wife so nice that she would let you practice your Keating traping moves on her! :D

Surprised to hear the Post Office is open tomorrow (MLK day) but I won't complain if it is.

Brian, I finally got that digital camera working so that is why you're seeing so many knives today. I kind of went crazy today. :)

Anyone looking for an awesome tactical (or camp/utility) maker, I highly recommend Bill. I have a few of his knives and his grinding ability is right up there with the best.
