Yahoo for some reason. Bigger file size too.

If you are like me and hang on to old emails for no good reason, might be worth an investigation.

I get a sense that MSN is moving out of the service business. Might be wrong.

I have no connection to Y!, I will not profit by sharing this information, the organization has no vested interest in promoting Y!, and even if it did, we wouldn't tell you. Oh, and there is no organization.

I have Yahoo and it sucks. I believe all free services do. Perhaps the memory expansion will help. It is my impression they really don't care if you access your mail or not- they want advertisers, of course. It is typical in a single day for me to recieve the "this page cannot be displayed' 10X

I hate Yahoo.
Maybe when I get DSL it will work better.

i've used yahoo free since it started. Its certainly one of the better free web based mail accounts but they all have their drawbacks. I hardly ever get spam in my main inbox though. It all goes to 'bulk' automatically.

I think 100Mb is for paying customers as i still only seem to have 6Mb

I have Yahoo, and discovered the larger size and redesign early this AM.

Unfortunately, something with the change is making Yahoo load much more slowly on my computer. Hopefully, that will change soon.

Yahoo has typically been an excellent free email for me, much better than MSN was.

Mine is loading slow, too, Spectre. My outlook express is a better email than Yahoo ever was, but Yahoo is a better launch point for the web.

Apunker?

In as much as you are in the UK, it might be that the authorities have decided that 100 mg of email storage is too dangerous for the citizens. :p

The SBC DSL I now have is actually SBC Yahoo. I hate their web browser and still use IE. The email program is nice and the increase will be wonderful as I won't have to clear it out as often. I wish I knew how to delete the mail as soon as it came in and entered my Outlook but not all emails do so guess I had better leave it be even if I did know how.

I got there a couple of times rather quickly and then the damned page wouldn't load. Must be all the traffic with the new announcement.:grumpy:

Edit:
Just went there and tried to access email again and got this...

Temporary problem accessing your mailbox.

We recommend clicking the "Refresh" or "Reload" button on your browser's toolbar. If this doesn't correct the problem, re-login to your account. If the problem persists, click here to send us a report.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Looks like they're aware of and working on the problem. I had trouble logining in to my email as well so that's probably part of it. I do like the new changes and the ad free mailbox!:D

I've had quite a few problems today with Yahoo. This doesn't surprise or especially disappoint me, as I've been involved with similar product rollouts in the past, and stuff happens.

However, if anyone here has been trying to email me today without success, please try JShirley@aug.edu.

Best,

John

The new 100mb storage is Yahoo's response to Google "gmail". My account now indicates that I have the 100mb storage and I'm not a paying customer. Have been using the free service for 5 years as a backup. It doesn't suck anymore than Hotmail or AOL or any of the giants. I read about the change in the Wash. Post and went to my Yahoo address several times today because I have not used it in a while and wanted to make sure it was still functional. I went there just before this post and it loaded instantly. Yahoo is just trying to compete with Google's aggressive attack on their market share.

I depend on my Outlook Express for most things, but I have a free web based service that is so much better than the giants, without all the ads and such. It has 6mb storage, like I had at Yahoo (more recent members only had 4mb) , but I have five email addresses, on the same site, for free, with 6mb each. I use one of the addresses for ordering, answering weird email, investigating stuff I don't want the recipient to have my regular email address. etc. so all my spam (and it's not that much) goes to that one address. The rest are spam free and I use them for my ebay accounts. And one address is .org....one is .com...one is .net...it's great. Doesn't take long to load (I do have DSL so I'm talking relative time here) and doesn't have popups or mindboggling ads flashing in your face. Anyone wanting the URL for this free service can email me privately.
