I just got back from a trip to Lost creek wilderness area. We entered the area at 1:30pm Friday, and came out ot 10:30am Sunday. We covered 7 miles Friday, 12 miles Saturday, and 6miles on Sunday. The trail head is at 8000ft. and our top elevation was 11700. My pack weighed in at about 50lbs. This was a great training hike for an upcoming. http://www.knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/826569/ The area is said to be second only to Yosemite for large granite domes and walls. I hope you enjoy the pics. :D

Went over and looked at your pics. Nice stuff. Is that a JackRat in the photo? (Jack Russell / RAT Terrier mix). My ex-wife has one and it is absolutely the smartest dog I have ever worked with, and I've trained a lot of German Shepherds. Granted...they're hyper and needs a LOT of attention but damn they're smart!

Also looks like a Marmot EarlyLight tent in one of the pics also.

Nice pics. I would definitely cut way down on gear, 50 lbs. is alot, you will move faster and your back will be glad, also the scenery will look nicer, lol I usually carry about 23-25 for 3-4 days, and that's carrying 3 liter's of water at first.

It was a training hike. The weight of the pack was for that purpose. I did a 15 day pack trip in Feb., down in Arizona, and my pack with 11 days of food and 6 liters of water was about 55lbs. I have to carry more than most because I'm one of the instructors, and have to be ready for anything. Jeff, I believe Freddy is a pure blood parsens terrior/ short hair Jack russle. Not totally sure. Yes a marmot tent, Gregory Whitnney Pack. IMO Gregory or Arcterx make the best packs. Was a fun trip. Short in that we where in and out in 45 hrs. Amazing country :D
