I was just curious if there was any way to restore the finish on a black pakerized knife? Over time from the kydex and from use... a lot of scuffs start to happen on the pakerizing. Someone told me Armor All works on the scuffs...but when I tried it a gooey film formed on the blade which then had to be washed off. Is there anyway this can be done?

Parkerized finish (magnisium or zinc phosphate) is soft and will wear off in time. I like park finish even on a knife. There's no way I know of to touch-up park. It's a total re-do or nothing. Park is very common on guns. Most people just live with worn park (gives the gun or knife character and looks real military) until such time as they have the whole thing redone. You can do park at home http://www.molyfusion.com/parkerizing.html though the problem may be to remove your handle.

I love Parkerizing, really sucks up the oil. One summer my father and I got some Parkerizing solution from Brownells. We bead blasted and Parkerized everything we could get our hands on, knives, guns, etc. It was a lot of fun. We ended up with some cheap knives that looked great. We even did an old W-49 Western brand Bowie knife, 10 years later my dad is still using it and the finish still looks good. We didn't take any of the handles off, just dunked the whole thing.
