I was in the mall last night and saw a really nice looking fixed blade custom made knife in a display case. The knife has a rosewood handle with brass rivets and is approximently 9" long. It has a clip point blade that has PASS enscribed in it right in front of the handle. I did not have time to take a good look at it and do not know what was on the other side. Can anybody give me some info on it or the maker? Maybe I will make time if it is a quality knife...it certainly appeered to be. Thanks for the help!

Your best bet might be to get back to the mall and check it out closer. People might be able to help you better with a little more information.

Well, I went back and took another long look at the knife. The maker is WC Pass from Merritt Is., Fl. and that was all there was on the knife. The saleslady could not give me anymore info on it. Can anybody give me info on the maker and/or info on the knives that he makes. Thanks for your help.

Went through all the Knives annuals (back to 1988). No luck here.

Will Pass was a stock removal maker who's work strongly mirrored the Loveless influence. At the time his work was as good as Steve Johnsons. He became very frustrated because his work did not bring the prices he thought it should have for the work he was doing and he did not get the publicity he thought he should have gotten for the work he was doing. After a very disapointing knife and gun show he attended in the late 70's he committed suicide. That was a shame because he did do some very clean work. I have examined a number of his pieces.

Gus, I appriciate the effort. Fisk, Thanks for the info on WC. I did not know his name was Will, or that he was not alive and still making knives. I would like to know more about the types of steel, handles, and general quality of the knives that he did make, if you can help further. I saw 2 of his fixed blade knives and they were very impressive. I am not sure what you meant by stock removal maker. Clue me in please. Also any possible values on his work. Thanks alot.

email me at home for more information on Will Pass.

Hi Sticker & All

Will was also an employee at Randall Made Knives. Many of his knives have that influence. Some of his sheaths were also made by Johnson who made Randall sheaths from the 60's to the mid 80's.

Stay Well
